Refund policy
Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Introduction
At BLUESTONE Training & Consulting ("Bluestone", "we", "us", or "our"), we are committed to providing high-quality professional development, executive education, and CPD-accredited training programmes.
We understand that circumstances may change and that participants or organisations may occasionally need to cancel, postpone, or modify their training arrangements.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy sets out the terms applicable to bookings, cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, and participant substitutions.
This policy applies to classroom training, instructor-led online programmes, self-paced online courses, and corporate or customised training, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
All provisions are subject to applicable consumer protection laws and statutory rights.
2. Course Bookings and Payments
-
Course registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment or written booking confirmation from Bluestone, in accordance with the applicable booking terms.
-
Participants and organisations are responsible for ensuring that booking information is accurate.
-
Course fees must be paid according to the payment conditions communicated during registration or specified in an invoice.
-
All applicable taxes and additional charges will be disclosed before payment.
-
Any bank charges, exchange-rate differences, or other payment-related costs will be handled in accordance with the agreed booking terms and applicable law.
3. Cancellation by Participants
Participants wishing to cancel their enrolment must submit a written cancellation request to the relevant Bluestone office.
The following standard cancellation and refund conditions apply to scheduled classroom and instructor-led online programmes, except where statutory rights or expressly agreed contractual terms provide otherwise.
| Cancellation Notice | Refund Entitlement | Cancellation Fee |
|---|---|---|
| 14 calendar days or more before the course begins | 100% refund | No fee |
| 7–13 calendar days before the course begins | 50% refund | 50% of course fee |
| Fewer than 7 calendar days before the course begins | No refund under the standard schedule | 100% of course fee |
| Failure to attend without prior cancellation | No refund under the standard schedule | 100% of course fee |
Cancellation periods are calculated using calendar days before the scheduled start date of the training.
The date on which Bluestone receives the written cancellation request determines the applicable cancellation period.
Cancellation charges are intended to reflect reserved course capacity, administration, trainer commitments, and other reasonable costs associated with organising the training. They will be applied fairly and only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
4. Rescheduling and Course Transfers
Bluestone recognises that professional commitments and unforeseen circumstances may require participants to change their training dates.
Our standard rescheduling conditions are:
-
14 days or more before the course: Participants may request a transfer to another available training date without additional charges.
-
7–13 days before the course: A transfer or date change may be subject to a fee equivalent to 50% of the original course fee.
-
Fewer than 7 days before the course: The full original course fee may remain payable. Alternative arrangements may be considered at Bluestone's discretion.
All transfers are subject to availability and confirmation by Bluestone.
Any difference in course fees between the original and replacement programmes must be settled before the new course begins. Any applicable credit or refund will be communicated in writing.
5. Participant Substitutions
Bluestone permits organisations and individual customers to substitute a registered participant with another eligible individual at no additional charge, including shortly before the course start date.
Requests must be submitted in writing, together with the replacement participant's details, before the training begins.
Participant substitutions are subject to any applicable course prerequisites, accreditation requirements, and administrative or access restrictions.
Where a participant has already started a course or accessed individual learning materials, substitution may not be possible.
6. Online and Self-Paced Training
For instructor-led virtual training, the standard cancellation and rescheduling conditions outlined in Sections 3 and 4 apply.
For self-paced online programmes, the following additional conditions apply:
-
A participant may request cancellation and a refund before accessing or starting the digital training, subject to applicable statutory rights and the specific terms communicated at purchase.
-
Once a participant has started the course or accessed protected training content, refunds may be restricted where permitted by applicable law and where any required prior consent or acknowledgement has been obtained.
-
Course access may be transferred to another participant if the original participant has not started the programme, subject to platform capabilities and applicable licensing conditions.
-
Where technical problems attributable to Bluestone materially prevent access to purchased learning content, Bluestone will seek to restore access, provide an appropriate alternative, or offer a refund or other remedy as required by law.
Nothing in this section limits applicable rights concerning defective, inaccessible, or improperly supplied digital content or services.
7. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Bluestone
Bluestone reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule a programme when reasonably necessary, including in circumstances such as:
-
Insufficient participant registrations.
-
Trainer illness or unavailability.
-
Venue or logistical difficulties.
-
Significant technical problems.
-
Unexpected operational disruptions.
-
Events beyond Bluestone's reasonable control.
If Bluestone cancels a training programme before delivery, registered participants will be offered a choice between:
-
A full refund of the course fee paid; or
-
A transfer to an alternative available course date without additional charges.
Participants are not required to accept an alternative course date.
If a substantial change to the scheduled training date, delivery format, or location makes the programme unsuitable for a participant, Bluestone will offer an appropriate remedy, including a refund where required by law.
Bluestone will make reasonable efforts to notify participants of cancellations or significant changes as early as possible.
Travel, accommodation, visa, and other third-party expenses are not included in the standard course-fee refund. Responsibility for such expenses will be determined in accordance with applicable law and any expressly agreed contractual commitments.
We recommend that participants make refundable travel and accommodation arrangements wherever possible.
8. Corporate, Group, and Customised Training
Corporate training, in-house workshops, and customised executive development programmes may involve advance preparation, dedicated facilitators, bespoke materials, venue reservations, and travel arrangements.
Accordingly, cancellations and refunds for these programmes will be governed primarily by the specific quotation, proposal, purchase order, or service agreement accepted by the corporate client.
Where no separate cancellation schedule has been agreed, Bluestone will assess cancellation requests fairly, taking into account:
-
The notice provided before the planned training date.
-
Work already completed in developing or customising the programme.
-
Confirmed trainer and venue commitments.
-
Reasonable, documented, and non-recoverable third-party costs.
-
The possibility of rescheduling or reallocating resources.
Any refund or cancellation charge will be communicated to the client in writing and determined according to the applicable contract and law.
9. Non-Attendance and Partial Participation
Participants who fail to attend a confirmed training programme without prior cancellation will not ordinarily be eligible for a refund.
Similarly, participants who voluntarily withdraw after a programme has commenced will not ordinarily receive a refund for the portion of the training already delivered.
Where a programme is delivered over several sessions, a participant's absence from individual sessions does not automatically entitle them to a proportional refund.
Exceptional circumstances, including serious illness, bereavement, or unavoidable emergencies, may be reviewed individually.
Bluestone may, at its discretion, offer a course transfer, partial credit, or another reasonable alternative.
These provisions do not affect any statutory rights or remedies arising from a failure by Bluestone to provide the contracted services properly.
10. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued through the original payment method used for the booking.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, refunds will be processed within the timeframe prescribed by applicable law.
For other approved refunds, Bluestone aims to initiate payment within 14 calendar days of confirming refund approval.
The time required for funds to appear in the customer's account may vary depending on the bank, card issuer, or payment service provider.
Where a refund must be issued in a different currency, the conversion will depend on the applicable payment arrangements. Bluestone cannot guarantee that currency exchange rates will remain unchanged.
No refund processing charges will be imposed where prohibited by law.
11. Exceptional Circumstances and Force Majeure
Bluestone understands that exceptional circumstances may affect a participant's ability to attend training.
Such circumstances may include serious illness, bereavement, natural disasters, government restrictions, major transport disruptions, or other events outside the reasonable control of the parties.
Requests arising from exceptional circumstances will be considered individually and in good faith.
Where possible, Bluestone may offer an alternative course date, training credit, or another appropriate arrangement.
Any such decision remains subject to applicable legal obligations and the contractual terms governing the booking.
12. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or overrides rights that customers may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
Depending on the customer's location, the contracting entity, the method of purchase, and the type of training supplied, additional cancellation or refund rights may apply.
For example, eligible consumers booking certain services remotely in the United Kingdom or European Union may benefit from statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights, generally including a 14-day period, subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.
Where a customer requests that training begin during a statutory cancellation period, any permitted payment for services already supplied, or any loss of cancellation rights following full performance or the supply of digital content, will be governed by applicable law and the relevant consent requirements.
If this policy conflicts with a mandatory statutory right, the applicable legal requirement will take precedence.

Bluestone will seek to resolve disputes amicably and in accordance with the applicable booking terms and governing law.
Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from exercising any applicable legal right or seeking an available consumer protection remedy.
15. Changes to This Policy
Bluestone may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy periodically to reflect operational improvements, changes in training services, or applicable legal requirements.
The version applicable to a booking will generally be the version provided or made available when the booking was confirmed, unless otherwise lawfully agreed.
Changes will not retrospectively remove existing contractual or statutory rights.
